Students of the government-run ITI have built a six-feet-high statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose using automobile scraps .

Watch: Netaji’s 'Trash to Treasure' statue made by ITI students

Six-foot-tall statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, which was recently constructed out of discarded iron rods, nuts, and bolts. Berhampur ITI students made the statue. The statue was unveiled on Monday, the 126th anniversary of the nationalist leader's birth, as a tribute to him.

According to principal Rajat Kumar Panigrahi of the government-run ITI. “Our institute has utilized waste and discarded materials to make different statues which dot the campus".

The same technique was used to create a statue of Mahatma Gandhi last year. It was awarded the First prize in the National Competition on Welded Marvels in 2022's "Trash to Treasure" category. which the Indian Institute of Welding organized (IIW).
