Watch: India speaks on Ukraine-Russia war at UN after Black Sea grain deal suspension

With Russia ending the Black Sea grain deal and bloodshed continuing in Ukraine, India once again appealed for peace at the United Nations General Assembly debate on Ukraine.

Ruchira Kamboj, the Indian envoy to the UN, said, "India continues to remain concerned over the situation in Ukraine."

"We have urged that all efforts be made for immediate cessation of hostilities, and an urgent return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy," she added.

India is providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and economic support to some of its neighbours in the Global South which are facing economic distress due to the escalating cost of food, fuel, and fertiliser, Kamboj added.

Repeating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal, the Indian diplomat said that it is "essential to emphasize that this is not an era of war".
