Uttarakhand Home Secretary reviews vigilance establishment, pushes for faster complaint resolution

Uttarakhand Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli on Monday chaired a review meeting of the Vigilance Establishment at his office auditorium in Dehradun.

During the session, he instructed officials to ensure prompt action on complaints received from the general public.

Raising concern over the backlog of vigilance cases, Bagauli stressed the need to enhance the existing system to accelerate case resolutions. He urged the use of modern technology and artificial intelligence tools to speed up the process.

He said, "Reminders should be sent to the concerned departments to dispose of the cases pending at the government level as well. If there is no progress in the cases within 2 months, it should be brought to the notice of the Home Secretary."

To streamline complaint redressal, he further stated that issues received through the official website or the 1064 toll-free number, if unrelated to vigilance, should be redirected to the relevant departments via the 1905 platform.

"Innovative methods should be adopted for effective disposal of cases related to vigilance," Bagauli reiterated.

He also announced plans for a separate meeting with the Director General of Police to address the shortage of officers in the Vigilance Department.

Present at the meeting were Director Vigilance Dr. V. Murugeshan, Superintendent of Police Vigilance Rachita Juyal, and other senior officials.
