Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday expressed profound grief over the devastating plane crash in Ahmedabad, calling the incident "extremely painful."
The tragic crash claimed the lives of 241 people on board, including passengers, medical college students, and crew members, as confirmed by Air India after midnight on Friday.
Taking to X, the chief minister today informed that he and other leaders held a two-minute silence for the crash victims before the meeting.

CM Dhami offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

“The news of the untimely death of many passengers in the unfortunate plane crash in Ahmedabad is extremely painful. I express my deepest condolences to the deceased passengers, medical college students and crew members in this heart-wrenching accident. I pray to God to grant the souls of all the departed a place in His feet and provide strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense pain,” he wrote.
Speaking to reporters, CM Dhami reiterated his sympathy for the victims and their families. He said, "...I express my condolences to those who lost their lives and wish speedy recovery to those injured... May God give strength to the families of those who lost their lives in this incident...."

Dhami also mourned the loss of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was among those killed in the crash. Remembering him as a dedicated public servant, he said, "...Vijay Rupani was a very humble politician. He made a lot of contributions to Gujarat and the nation..."
