Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has set an ambitious goal to scale the turnover of Uttarakhand’s flagship umbrella brand 'House of Himalayas' to ₹100 crore by 2030.

He has also directed officials to ensure the brand’s products are promoted through Unity Mall to boost visibility and sales.

Reviewing key schemes under the Rural Development Department at the Secretariat on Monday—including the Chief Minister Udyamshala Yojana, Growth Centre Yojana, House of Himalayas, and Centre of Excellence Yojana—CM Dhami emphasized the need for focused efforts to strengthen rural entrepreneurship.

He said, “Along with increasing the resources of livelihood in rural areas, it is necessary to give every possible encouragement to people who are returning to rural areas.” He further instructed officials to reinforce the 'doorstep delivery system' for better execution of these initiatives.

Underscoring the importance of expanding the market reach of Uttarakhand’s products both nationally and internationally, the Chief Minister stated, “To create a market for the state's products at the national and international levels, a concrete marketing strategy for the umbrella brand 'House of Himalayas' should be developed. Special attention should also be paid to the quality of its products.”

Calling for a business-centric approach to rural development, CM Dhami said, “Concerted efforts should be made to enhance the products of Growth Centres by adopting a business approach, thereby increasing the livelihoods of local people.” He also stressed the need to link growth centres with skill development initiatives.

Further, he directed departments to ensure that under the Centre of Excellence Scheme, women in rural areas are provided with proper training, financial aid, market access, and other required resources. “Appropriate arrangements should be made to ensure training, financial assistance, and access to the market, along with providing necessary skills, resources, and support under the Centre of Excellence Scheme, to promote women's entrepreneurship in rural areas,” he said.

During the review meeting, Rural Development Secretary Radhika Jha presented updates on the Game Changer schemes. She reported that 1.65 lakh women in the state have already become ‘Lakhpati Didis’ and the target is to empower another one lakh women in the next three years.

She also informed that under the Chief Minister Udyamshala Scheme, 15,000 rural enterprises are set to receive support over three years. Efforts are underway to gradually include over 150 local products under the 'House of Himalayas' brand.
