Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday showcased the achievements of local communities by presenting ‘House of Himalayas’ products to Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda.

The initiative highlights the vital role played by the state’s women and residents in promoting self-employment through locally made goods.

Sharing the moment on social media platform X, Chief Minister Dhami wrote, “By presenting products of House of Himalayas to the Honorable National President and Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Honorable Shri @JPNadda ji, he was informed about the unprecedented work being done by our women power and local people in the field of self-employment.” He described the collection as a symbol of “pure and quality local products of Devbhoomi, the tireless hard work of women's power.”

Earlier, CM Dhami welcomed JP Nadda at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun.

Posting about it online, he wrote, “Welcomed and greeted the Honourable National President of BJP and Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Honorable @JPNaddaji at Jolly Grant Airport on his arrival to Uttarakhand, a symbol of valour and courage, imbued with religion, spirituality and natural beauty.”

In a separate development on May 17, the Chief Minister launched the ‘e-Rupi’ system — a digital initiative aimed at transforming agricultural support systems in the state. Alongside this launch, he introduced four key agricultural policies: the Kiwi Policy, Dragon Fruit Initiative, Apple Post-Harvest Scheme, and Millet Mission.

The CM also announced that the government is working on introducing a Flower and Honey Policy to further enhance the agriculture sector. Explaining the benefits of the e-Rupi system, Dhami said it will provide a transparent, speedy, and middleman-free subsidy payment process for farmers.

Under this system, subsidies will be sent directly to farmers' mobile phones via SMS or QR code, enabling them to purchase fertilisers, seeds, and medicines from authorised centres.

To ensure effective rollout, the Chief Minister directed officials to organise training sessions in all villages to familiarise farmers with the new system.

Highlighting the broader goal, Dhami stated, “All these schemes will promote agricultural diversity of the state and will become the basis for increasing the income of farmers.” He added that these efforts are expected to boost employment in both hill and plain regions and curb migration by strengthening Uttarakhand’s rural economy.
