Uttarakhand CM Dhami attends Holi Milan Samaroh in Dehradun, launches e-fund website for transparency

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the Holi Milan program organized by the Municipal Corporation Dehradun on Wednesday.

During the event, he also launched the e-fund website, designed to ensure transparency in financial transactions within the corporation, as per an official statement.

Extending his Holi greetings, CM Dhami wished joy, enthusiasm, and harmony to all residents of the state. He emphasized that Holi fosters cultural unity and strengthens social bonds. He also stressed the importance of preserving this cultural heritage for future generations.

The Chief Minister highlighted the continuous efforts of the "triple-engine" government to enhance the standard of living in Dehradun. He noted that while the Municipal Corporation is committed to providing quality public services, it is also focused on improving the city’s cleanliness.

Projects such as a yoga park spanning 3.5 hectares in Kedarpuram, being developed at a cost of ₹5 crore, and a new park in Yamuna Colony, costing ₹1.3 crore, are part of these efforts.

To improve sanitation and waste management, mechanized transfer stations have been set up in two locations, and outstanding work by sanitation workers in various wards is being recognized under the Swachhata Senani Samman Yojana, with a monthly honorarium of ₹10,000.

CM Dhami also mentioned that in addition to enabling online building tax payments, the newly launched e-fund website would enhance financial transparency.

He praised Dehradun Municipal Corporation for securing the 68th rank in Swachh Survekshan 2023 nationwide and the top spot among all municipal corporations in Uttarakhand. He expressed optimism that Dehradun's cleanliness ranking would improve further this year.

CM Dhami reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to Uttarakhand’s development in line with public aspirations. He noted that the land law bill had been passed in the Assembly and that a stricter land law was being introduced to reflect the people's sentiments.

Speaking about the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), CM Dhami stated that Uttarakhand is the first state in India to implement it. He described UCC as a landmark step in women’s empowerment and a protective shield for women. "This Ganga of UCC will benefit every state in the country," he remarked.

He also highlighted the growing investor interest in Uttarakhand, facilitated through a single-window system for approvals. Reflecting on his tenure, CM Dhami recalled that since assuming office on July 4, 2021, he had prioritized filling vacant government posts.

Over the past three and a half years, more than 20,000 youths have been provided jobs, making this period one of employment generation.
