Uttarakhand CM Dhami approves Rs 62 crore for drinking water schemes

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has sanctioned ₹62 crore for the maintenance and improvement of drinking water schemes across the state.

The funds will support the upkeep of pumping-based water systems and urban-rural supply schemes operated by the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan and the Drinking Water Corporation.

The initiative aims to ensure a consistent supply of clean and safe drinking water, particularly in regions where infrastructure needs urgent attention.

In addition to the water-related allocations, the Chief Minister has approved ₹11.04 crore for constructing a multi-level parking facility and a multipurpose building in the Pati development block of Champawat district.

Another ₹4.66 crore has been sanctioned for reconstruction, asphalting, and conversion of the Chitai-Petshaal-Bhetadagi motor road (Petshaal-Bamanswal-Suwakhan) into an all-weather road in the Jageshwar Assembly constituency of Almora district.

In Udham Singh Nagar district’s Bajpur Assembly constituency, ₹2.83 crore has been approved for the construction of a span bridge and approach road on the Levada river, while ₹1.16 crore has been cleared for car parking near the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath block of Rudraprayag district.

Additionally, ₹3.18 lakh has been sanctioned for the formation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for tunnel parking in Ganganai (Garam Paani) near Janakichatti in Uttarkashi district.

The Chief Minister has also given a green signal to the construction of another bridge on the Levada river, located along the Sardar Nagar–Bajpur–Keshowala–Bannakheda–Bailpadav–Kotabag–Kaladhungi motor road in Bajpur constituency.

Earlier in the day, CM Dhami, accompanied by his mother Bishna Devi, cast his vote for the three-tier Panchayat elections at booth number three in a school in Nagla Tarai village, Khatima.
