CM Dhami inspects rain-affected areas in Dehradun, issues directives for relief and safety

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday visited several rain-affected areas under the Raipur region of Dehradun, taking stock of the situation on the ground and interacting with local residents.

The Chief Minister toured Kirsali Chowk, IT Park, Nanurkheda, Amwala, Tapovan, and Shanti Vihar, where he listened to the grievances of those impacted by the heavy rainfall.

Emphasising the government's commitment to public welfare, CM Dhami said, “The safety of the public is the top priority of the state government.” He assured residents that the administration is fully prepared to assist those in need.

During his visit, the Chief Minister instructed the district administration to extend all necessary support to the affected individuals. He also laid stress on preventive measures and infrastructure readiness.

“The drains should be cleaned regularly and proper arrangements must be made for drainage in waterlogged areas,” he directed, adding that “warning boards should also be installed in sensitive areas with special caution.”

Highlighting the importance of preparedness, CM Dhami issued clear instructions for heightened vigilance across departments. “The local police forces and all departments must remain in an alert state,” he said, underscoring the importance of swift and coordinated response.

“Prompt action should be taken in the event of any contingency. Also, make every effort to protect the lives and property of the affected people while minimising the response time,” he added.
