The Yogi government’s ‘Mission Rojgar’ has achieved another milestone in job creation, with 2,425 newly selected lady supervisors and 13 pharmacists set to receive appointment letters from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Lok Bhavan Auditorium on Wednesday.

Marking the largest recruitment drive in nearly two decades in the Women and Child Development Department, the initiative is expected to strengthen Anganwadi services and boost women’s empowerment across Uttar Pradesh.

Director of Women and Child Development, Sarneet Kaur Broka, said the recruitment was carried out by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission in a fair and transparent manner.

“The Chief Minister himself will hand over the appointment letters to the selected candidates. This initiative will not only reinforce the Anganwadi system but also inject new energy into women and child development services,” she said. Women Welfare Minister Baby Rani Maurya and Minister of State (Independent Charge) Pratibha Shukla will also attend the ceremony.

Over the last eight years, the department has seen major reforms, including the promotion of six District Program Officers and over 200 Child Development Project Officers, recruitment of 19,424 Anganwadi workers across 75 districts, and promotions of over 3,000 assistants to worker posts.

A total of 22,290 mini Anganwadi workers were upgraded to main workers, with their honorarium raised from ₹5,500 to ₹8,000. Two years ago, 320 honorarium-based workers were regularised, while dependents of 182 deceased workers were given compassionate appointments. After 20 years, 197 main workers were promoted to Child Development Project Officers, and this year alone, over 20,000 Anganwadi workers were recruited transparently.

Overall, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has provided more than 8.5 lakh government jobs and created over 2 crore private sector and MSME opportunities in eight years. Wednesday’s distribution of appointment letters is seen as another step towards women’s empowerment and the state’s march towards economic self-reliance.
