UP government to launch campaign for 100% farmer registration from September 16

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure complete farmer registration ahead of PM-Kisan installment.

UP government to launch campaign for 100% farmer registration from September 16

The Uttar Pradesh government will roll out a statewide campaign from September 16 to achieve 100 per cent farmer registration.

Acting on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directions, district magistrates will monitor daily progress in the lead-up to the drive.

The Revenue Department has been tasked with issuing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to revenue officers to ensure land ownership records are corrected in line with Aadhaar. The state has set a target of 2.88 crore farmer registrations, of which around 1.45 crore farmers (over 50%) have already been registered.

District-wise Progress

Bijnor leads with 58% registrations, followed by Hardoi (57.84%), Shravasti (57.47%), Pilibhit (56.89%) and Rampur (56.72%), placing them among the top five districts.
For farmers who are yet to register, field officers are verifying credentials. In Amroha, Azamgarh, Balrampur, Etah and Jaunpur, 100% verification has been completed, officials said.

The government has directed all District Magistrates to ensure full registration before releasing the next installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan). DMs have also been asked to conduct extensive IEC (Information, Education and Communication) activities, with special focus on lagging districts.

Fertiliser Availability Reassured

Meanwhile, the state government reaffirmed that there is no shortage of fertilisers in Uttar Pradesh and urged farmers not to indulge in unnecessary hoarding. According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), adequate stocks are available to meet agricultural demand.

The Agriculture Department shared detailed figures showing that during the Kharif season 2024, 36.76 lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser were sold by August 18, while this year’s sales have already reached 42.64 lakh metric tonnes, marking a sharp increase.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to farmers to buy fertilisers only as per requirement, assuring that supplies will be available as needed. He directed all districts to maintain a complaint cell for quick grievance redressal.

The CM also warned against overpricing and black marketing, instructing officials to conduct regular inspections, maintain direct communication with farmers, and ensure smooth distribution.
