UP CM Yogi Adityanath welcomes devotees to Maha Kumbh 2025, emphasizes India's spiritual heritage

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday praised the commencement of Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, calling it a proud symbol of India’s spiritual and cultural legacy, reflecting the essence of "unity in diversity."

In an official statement, the Chief Minister welcomed the saints, devotees, mahatmas, kalpvasis, and visitors to the auspicious event, wishing them a blessed first holy dip at the Maha Kumbh.

Emphasizing the significance of the occasion, Chief Minister Adityanath described the Mahakumbh as not only a religious congregation but also a representation of India’s spiritual strength and cultural heritage.

He stated that the event embodies "unity in diversity" and expressed hope that the wishes of all those seeking spiritual fulfillment through meditation and bathing in the sacred Ganga waters would be fulfilled. "Mahakumbh is not just a religious gathering but a testament to the global prestige of Sanatan culture and traditions," he added.

The Chief Minister assured that extensive arrangements have been made to ensure the event is both divine and grand, with special emphasis on cleanliness, security, healthcare, traffic management, and accommodation facilities.

He called on everyone to join in celebrating the glorious tradition of Sanatan culture at Maha Kumbh 2025, adding, "May the grace of Maa Ganga bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to your lives."

By 8:00 AM on the first day of the event, 40 lakh devotees had already taken the holy dip at the Sangam, according to the Uttar Pradesh government. The gathering, marking the start of Maha Kumbh 2025, is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural event. Devotees from across the globe have gathered at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers converge.

The first major Shahi Snan, or Amrit Snan, will take place on Tuesday, coinciding with Makar Sankranti.
