Six-year-old Kanpur girl gets school admission after meeting CM Yogi

A six-year-old girl from Kanpur, Mayra, secured admission to her desired private school after she and her mother met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the Janata Darshan programme in Lucknow on Monday.

According to officials, the process was initiated within hours of the interaction, following the CM’s instructions. Escorts World School principal Sudhir Tiwari issued a letter to the Basic Shiksha Adhikari, Kanpur Nagar, confirming that admission formalities for Mayra, daughter of Neha, a resident of Keshavpuram, Kanpur, had begun.

During the Janata Darshan, the chief minister greeted the girl with a smile, offered her chocolates, and asked about her aspirations. Mayra responded, “Doctor.” Immediately, Yogi Adityanath directed officials to facilitate her admission. “CM sir said that he will help me in my admission. I want to become a doctor. He gave me chocolate too,” said Mayra.

Her mother Neha expressed gratitude, saying, “We requested CM for help as our daughter wanted to study at a private school in Kanpur Awas Vikas. CM assured us of admission.”

This is not the first time the CM has intervened in such matters. In June, a girl named Vachi from Moradabad was admitted to a reputed school under the Right to Education Act after approaching the CM. Similarly, in July, Gorakhpur’s Pankhuri Tripathi received a fee waiver following her request to the chief minister.
