UP CM Adityanath: no violence, not even squabbles in UP during Ram Navmi

CM Adityanath's statements come after violence reported in multiple places across the country

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said there were no riots, not even squabbles in the state during Navratra and Ram Navmi. The comments were made in the aftermath of riots and violence were reported in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal which claimed the life of two and injured many others.

CM Adityanath said this was a symbol of UP's 'new development agenda' and that in the state there is no 'space for riots, lawnlessness and goondagardi' anymore.

Adityanath in a video released on his Twitter handle said that in one of the most populous states of India, 800 Ram Navmi were taken out and parallel celebrations for Ramzan took place without incident.
