UP: 17 girls allege they were drugged and molested by school principal, aide

17 girls studying in the 10th standard in UP's Muzaffarnagar have alleged that they were drugged and molested by their school principal and his aide on the pretext of preparations for practical exams.

The incident happened on November 18.

According to the FIR lodged in the case, the principal asked the girls to stay back for the night to prepare for practical exams, which were to be held in another school in the same area, the next day.

The girls claim that they were given sedatives mixed with food. They lost consciousness after eating the food and were molested.

The principal and the aide have been booked under sections related to outraging modesty of a woman, criminal intimidation and POCSO Act.

Parents have alleged that their complaint was filed only after the local MLA, Pramod Utwal, intervened. The station house officer of the area's police station has been suspended.
