Khatoon was invited by the administration of the Samya Mata temple to attend an event.
The chief of a nagar panchayat said that the temple was disrespected by the local MLA who is a non-vegetarian and that her visit affected the sanctity of the place.
The police have been on alert following the incident.
Reacting on the issue, Khatoon said some elements were misleading a group of people.
&ldquo;I respect all religions. Moreover, I am a public representative. Be it a temple or a mosque, I will surely go there if I am invited,&rdquo; she was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
She added that she has used her MLA fund for the renovation of various temples.

The Election Commission has asked the Congress government in Karnataka to stop publishing advertisements in newspapers in poll-bound Telangana.

The Election Commission on Monday asked the Congress government in Karnataka to stop publishing advertisements about its work in newspapers in poll-bound Telangana and sought an explanation from it for not seeking prior approval as mandated under the poll code.
Earlier in the day, the BJP lodged a complaint with the Commission in the matter, alleging that the Congress has violated the Representation of the People Act and the Model Code of Conduct with its government in Karnataka putting out advertisements in the Telangana media with an eye on the November 30 assembly polls there. The BRS too approached the poll panel on the issue.
In a letter to the Karnataka chief secretary, the Commission said the state government did not obtain prior approval from it for publishing the advertisements, an action violative of the poll code instructions issued to central and state governments years ago.
It also said the publication of any such advertisement by the government of Karnataka in Telangana should stop with immediate effect till necessary approvals are taken by the state government from the Commission.
It has sought an explanation by 5 pm on Tuesday on the circumstances which led to the violation of the Commission's Model Code of Conduct (MCC) instructions.
In its letter, the Commission also asked why disciplinary action should not be taken against the secretary-in-charge of the Department of Information and Public Relations for violations of procedure as required under MCC instructions.
In the past, the Commission had observed that certain advertisements highlighting welfare schemes and achievements of the central and state governments were being published by some non-poll-going states in the newspapers in poll-bound states.
The Commission had considered this to be a violation of the spirit of the Model Code of Conduct.
In 2013, it had directed that, in future, all such advertisements issued by non-poll-going states during the Model Code of Conduct period would be forwarded to the Commission for clearance before they are sent for publication in newspapers having editions or circulation in the poll-bound states.
Assembly polls are due in Telangana on November 30, with the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the Congress and the BJP locked in a keen battle.

The National Disaster Management Authority has said that once the process of evacuating the workers trapped in Uttarakhand begins it could take 3 to 4 hours to complete it.&nbsp;
Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd), a member of the NDMA, said that it will take approximately 3 to 5 minutes to rescue each worker and therefore the entire process could to take 3 to 4 hours.&nbsp;
'It is estimated that it will take 3-5 minutes to evacuate each of the 41 persons. The entire evacuation is expected to take 3-4 hours. Three teams of NDRF will go in ise the tunnel to organise the evacuation. SDRF will provde support. Paramedics will also go inside the tunnel at the time of evacuation,' he said.&nbsp;

Manual drilling over 50 metres has been done in the Uttarkashi tunnel, while five to six metres remain.

As the rescue operations in Uttarkashi's Silkyara tunnel entered the 17th day, horizontal drilling over 50 metres was completed.
Rat-hole miners have manually drilled about three metres. They were brought in after the auger machine got stuck in the debris and had to be removed.
According to micro-tunnelling expert Chris Cooper who is present at the site, only five to six metres of drilling is left to be done. Meanwhile, vertical drilling is also being carried out.
Cooper said, "It went very well last night. We have crossed 50 metres. It's now about 5-6 metres to go. We didn't have any obstacles last night. It is looking very positive."

Reacting to the Vice President's remarks, Congress MP and Lok Sabha whip Manickam Tagore took to the social media platform 'X', and said that, "he has crossed all limits of sycophancy."
"If you compare (Modi) with Mahatma, it's shameful, Sir. We all know there is a limit to sycophancy; now you have crossed that limit, and to be in your chair and position and to be a sycophant does not add value, Sir. With respect," the Congress MP wrote while tagging a clip of VP Dhankhar's speech.

A heartwrenching incident has come to light as a man from Maharashtra's Thane district allegedly killed his 55-year-old mother after a fight with her over not serving him tasty food, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Sunday, November 26 evening at Velu village in Murbad taluka, an official from Thane rural police control room said.
The woman and her son used to have frequent quarrels over domestic issues.
On Sunday, the man again had a quarrel with his mother and complained that she did not cook and serve him tasty food, the police said quoting the FIR.
The man, in a fit of anger, allegedly attacked his mother with a sickle on her neck following which she collapsed and died, the official said.
Some persons from the neighbourhood alerted police, who rushed to the spot and sent the body to a government hospital for post-mortem.
After the incident, the accused allegedly had an overdose of sleeping pills. He was hospitalised by relatives and has not yet been arrested, the official said.
A case was registered on Monday against the accused under Indian Penal Code section 302.

The video was shared by Journalist Nikhil Choudhary on X and it has garnered a number of views. Currently, it is not clear when this incident took place and editorji does not vouch for the veracity of this viral video.&nbsp;

Police on Sunday reported that as this incident took place, the girl was immediately rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the doctors declared her dead.&nbsp;

An electric multiple unit (EMU) train coming from Shakur Basti railway station climbed at a platform in Mathura railway station on Tuesday.&nbsp;
However, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
Mathura Station director SK Srivastava said that all the passengers had already deboarded the train and the cause for the incident is yet to be ascertained.&nbsp;
"This train comes from Shakur Basti. The train arrived at 10:49 p.m. All passengers had deboarded the train. Suddenly the train climbed the platform. We are investigating the cause of this incident," he said.&nbsp;

He further stated that few trains on the upline have been affected.&nbsp;

The operation to rescue the workers trapped in Uttarakhand's Silkyara tunnel has been going on for 17 days. The delay in bringing out the workers was partly due to the obstructions faced by the drilling machines while clearing the debris.&nbsp;
Auger and drilling machines kept hitting metal obstructions in the debris, stalling the rescue work.&nbsp;
This led to manual intervention with rescue workers entering the the narrow pipes pushed through the rescue holes to cut the metal structures using gas cutters.&nbsp;
According to the Indian Express, on the 12th day of the rescue operation the teams faced a similar situation.&nbsp;
Praveen Yadav, an underground tunneling expert for Trenchless Engineering, told Indian Express that several people tried to enter to the narrow pipes but could not in the absence of proper oxygen supply.&nbsp;
He volunteered to go in but his boss asked him to wait for the National Disaster Response Force personnel to try.&nbsp;
Yadav told the Indian Express that NDRF jawans were to big and the rescue pipes too small so he ultimately went in with two other people.&nbsp;
Yadav said he took a gas cutter, two bottles of water and crawled into the pipes on his knees and elbows.&nbsp;

He said that sometimes the work requires him to go inside those pipes two or three times a day.&nbsp;
Yadav and his aides found the metal girders and cut them using gas cutters. They then removed the cut pieces.&nbsp;
He said that the process generated a lot of heat and they faced the risk of sustaining burn injuries.&nbsp;

Karnataka doctor arrested for 'performing' 900 illegal abortions

The hospital&rsquo;s manager, Meena, and receptionist, Rizma Khan, were arrested earlier this month, police said.

The Bengaluru police have arrested a doctor and his lab technician who allegedly performed around 900 illegal abortions in the last three years, officials said on Monday. Dr Chandan Ballal and his lab technician Nisar allegedly charged around Rs 30,000 for each abortion which they carried out at a hospital in the district headquarters town of Mysuru. Both were taken into custody last week, they said. &nbsp; The hospital&rsquo;s manager, Meena, and receptionist, Rizma Khan, were arrested earlier this month, police said. Police busted the sex-determination and female foeticide racket last month with the arrest of two accused&mdash;Shivalinge Gowda and Nayan Kumar&mdash;in the district headquarters town of Mandya, near Mysuru, when they were taking a pregnant woman for abortion in a car. During questioning, the accused duo revealed a jaggery unit in Mandya, used as an ultrasound scan centre, from where a police team later seized the scan machine, which did not have valid authorisation or other official documents, a police officer said.

An Indian Railways engineer was asked to report to Delhi for a new posting 3 days before his scheduled retirement.

"Sheer madness," responded a senior engineer to the Railway Board when it ordered his transfer from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh to Delhi three days before his retirement.
The chief communication engineer from the Bilaspur division of South East Central Railway (SECR) has written to the Railway Board terming his transfer to the Northern Railway (NR) zone three days before his retirement an act of harassment.
According to the transfer order, KP Arya is supposed to join the NR on a higher administrative grade post on November 28, 2023, while his retirement is due on November 30.
"This order seems well in order at the surface, but when seen in the complete perspective of my imminent superannuation within a week on 30th Nov 2023, the madness shines brightly," Arya said in a letter addressed to the Secretary, Railway Board.
He added, "Because this is nothing but sheer madness only to transfer one employee, who has served the IR (Indian Railway) organisation his whole life, in the week of his superannuation so that his superannuation settlement gets disrupted and he gets harassed in the last days in the organisation." Arya told PTI that the SECR zone already had a vacant HAG post, still, the Railway Board decided to transfer him to the NR zone on a similar vacant post.
"I will work only for three days in NR headquarters, New Delhi and retire from the Indian Railways. The Railways will pay me about Rs 3 lakh just as transfer money which is a complete waste of public money," Arya told PTI.
Though this is a promotional transfer, Arya will not get any additional monetary benefit. "My promotion was due about six months ago but it was kept pending. However, as per the government norms, I started getting monetary benefits for that post from the day my promotion was due. So, this promotional transfer is only to harass me." The engineer in his letter alleged, "In the series of harassment being meted out to me, a professionally very very competent, honest and upright officer by a cabal of officials of dubious character &hellip; I found it my duty to expose the concerned Railway Board officials as I have always done."

Flight operations at the Delhi airport were affected due to rain and lightning in the city on Monday evening.&nbsp;
According to NDTV, 9 flights were impacted by the weather in Delhi. Of the 9, 6 were diverted to Jaipur, 2 to Lucknow, and 1 to Ahmedabad.&nbsp;
ANI reported that a Vistara flight from Guwahati to Delhi, UK742, was diverted to Jaipur due to bad weather at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.&nbsp;
Vistara also tweeted that 'Flights to and from Delhi and Mumbai may be impacted due to bad weather and air traffic congestion.'

Spicejet too posted an alert on X and said ' We are facing ATC congestion at Delhi (DEL) due to bad weather. All departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via http://bit.ly/2tG9xBx.'

At least 33 passengers were injured after a bus from MP overturned in Rajasthan.

At least 33 passengers were left injured after a bus going from Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur to Rajasthan's Pratapgarh overturned late on the night of 27th November.
According to police, the speeding bus went out of control and overturned near Hathuniya village.
They added that the primary cause of the accident appears to be a tyre burst.
There was an outcry inside the bus after the accident, following which locals rushed to the spot and rescued passengers by breaking the glass windows of the bus.
All injured were rushed to the district hospital in a truck. Three of them were said to be critical.
