Three Men Killed in Vehicle Crash on Mumbai-Nashik Highway

Thane, Sep 4 (PTI) Three men tragically lost their lives when their vehicle collided with a massive stone on the Mumbai-Nashik highway in Maharashtra's Thane district, police reported on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 10 PM on Tuesday near a hotel in the Kasara Ghat area.

According to Kasara police station's senior inspector, Suresh Gavit, "The car, being driven recklessly and negligently, crashed into a large stone while attempting to maneuver a turn. The impact resulted in the deaths of three passengers inside the car, while the driver managed to jump out and flee the scene."

The victims have been identified as Riaz Haisyat Ali, Asadullah, and Afzal, all hailing from Uttar Pradesh, aged between 30 and 35 years.

Their bodies have been transported to a government hospital for postmortem.

Police have lodged a case under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act against the driver, and efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect.
