Teenager Allegedly Drugged and Raped by YouTuber in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur (UP), Jun 27 (PTI): A serious incident has emerged where a 17-year-old social media content creator was allegedly drugged and raped by a video blogger during a project shoot here, according to the police on Friday.

The disturbing event reportedly took place on the night of June 12, as per the statement from the rape survivor.

The young girl informed the police that during a scheduled shoot, she was in the company of the accused YouTuber and two of his companions at a club.

At approximately 10 PM, upon the conclusion of the shoot, the accused offered her a soft drink which, as alleged, was mixed with a sedative.

After consuming the drink, she lost consciousness, after which the accused reportedly took her to a room and sexually assaulted her.

The survivor's father lodged a complaint on June 19 under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Yogendra Singh, Circle Officer Cantt, confirmed that the main accused was apprehended on Thursday evening and has since been taken into custody and sent to jail.

Investigations into the involvement of others related to the incident are currently underway.
