Tawang clash: China tried to violate Indian airspace too? IAF scrambled jets multiple times, says report

Following the revelation of clashes between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh, it emerged that the Indian Air Force was conducting active combat patrols in the region.

The Indian Air Force was flying patrols to prevent airspace violation by China, according to news outlet NDTV. The IAF had to scramble its fighter jets 2-3 times in recent weeks to prevent violations by China, the report said.

On 9 December 2022, a violent clash broke out between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Arunachal's Tawang, leading to "minor injuries" on both sides.

This was the first such skirmish in Arunachal since the protracted face-off in Ladakh began in 2020.

The worst point of the Ladakh tension was the clash in Galwan Valley in which 20 Indian soldiers and many Chinese soldiers died.
