The seizure, as per officials, is estimated to be worth over Rs 10 crore in the international market (about Rs 5K-7K per blot) and all the six who have been taken into custody, beginning late last month, are students and youngsters who wanted to make "easy money" by remaining anonymous within the deep layers of secret internet-based apps and messenger service like WICKR.
LSD or lysergic acid diethylamide is a synthetic chemical based-drug and is categorised as a hallucinogen. It is trafficked by painting it on blots, half the size of a stamp paper, and is consumed by licking or swallowing.
"This is the "largest-ever" seizure of LSD blots in the country in a single operation. Six youngsters have been arrested till now and we are on the trail of one more such cartel," NCB deputy director general (northern region) Gyaneshwar Singh told reporters here.
Those arrested are in the age group of 25-28 years, the officials said.

"It was reported that a minor electrical issue occurred in the coach no. B-5 of Secunderabad-Agartala Express near Brahmapur station. The staff on duty attended to the issue immediately and rectified it," a ECoR official said.

The exchange of fire between the two sides took place in a school in Serou area of Sugnu in Kakching district, the officials said.
A BSF official said suspected Kuki miscreants resorted to indiscriminate and heavy firing targeted at BSF troops deployed at the Serou Practical High School around 4.15 am.
Constable Ranjit Yadav sustained a bullet injury during the gunfight and was evacuated to Kakching&rsquo;s Jivan Hospital where he was declared dead, the official said.
The two injured Assam Rifles personnel have been air evacuated to Mantripukhri and search operations are in progress, the Indian Army&rsquo;s SpearCorps, headquartered in Dimapur, added on Twitter.

"The accused has been booked under Indian Penal Code section 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life)," he said.
According to police, accused Sameer (28) is from the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh.

On this occasion, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex Sikh religious body, displayed the bullet-ridden holy 'saroop' (volume) of the Guru Granth Sahib.
The saroop, which was installed in the sanctum sanctorum at that time, was hit by a bullet during the army action in 1984.

The top court said that the Chief Election Commissioner and election commissioners should be selected by a committee comprising the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and the Chief Justice of India.
In case the Lok Sabha does not have a Leader of Opposition, then the leader of the single largest Opposition party should be included.
A 5-judge bench said that this process should continue till the Parliament makes a law on the issue.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's school in Gujarat's Vadnagar has been restored and is being redeveloped to serve as a centre of inspiration for children, news agency PTI reported quoting top government sources.

Built in the late 19th century, the school has been restored in an old architectural style by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

A heritage school in Gujarat's Vadnagar where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had his initial education has been restored and is being redeveloped under project 'Prerna' to serve as a centre of inspiration for children through immersive experience, top government sources said on Tuesday.
Built in the late 19th century, the school has been restored in an old architectural style by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Based on the vision of the prime minister, this "first-of-its-kind" school redevelopment project 'Prerna: The Vernacular School' is being undertaken to inspire the youth of the county to become catalysts of change, the sources said.
The architectural revival and redevelopment of the old school are part of a holistic and mega redevelopment plan for the historic city of Vadnagar that traces an uninterrupted continuum of human habitation for more than 2500 years, they said.
"The programme is expected to be rolled out later this year. Two students from each district of the country will take part in the programme which will be conducted in a series of batches. Each batch will have 30 students, covering 15 districts, and in 50 weeks, all 750 districts will be covered spanning 1,500 students in total," a source said.
This "experiential school" will offer an "unique pedagogy" and use both unconventional and tech-based means to impart values and inspire children to become catalysts of change in future, the source said.
"It is envisioned to be a school of the future, and to give an impetus to education and values. It will be a residential programme and the central government will bear all the necessary expenses on each child who will be part of 'Prerna'," the source said.
The primary objective of this initiative is to inspire Indians across all the districts, starting from Vadnagar, and see, if can be replicated, perhaps in other parts of the country, the source said.
The aim of this project is empower individual thought and self identity, build a feeling of pride and duty towards the country, instill a sense of initiative, invoke a feeling of unity and respect for the diversity of land, people and ideologies, and promote the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', the source said.
"Children will take part in sessions on valour and and compassion, among other topics. They will learn about valour through the stories of 21 Param Vir Chakra winners, about compassion from the life and legacy of Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavira, Emperor Ashoka, Mahatma Gandhi, among others. Speeches of prominent leaders like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Jawaharlal Nehru will be told to the children through holograms," the source said.
On the late 19th century building of the school, the source said work on its restoration began in 2018.
"The old building has been restored using vernacular elements of architecture and it by imagining the way the structure may have looked originally," the source said.
The criteria of selection and other modalities are currently being worked out, the source said, adding, children from all kinds of schools will be eligible to be part of the initiative.
About 100 km from Ahmedabad, Vadnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat, is a historic town with population of approximately 28,000.
In December 2022, ASI officials had said that Vadnagar town and the iconic Sun Temple at Modhera in Gujarat, and rock-cut relief sculptures of Unakoti in Tripura, were added to the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
"This listing on the tentative list of UNESCO heritage sites, will give a boost to tourism in Vadnagar and further in Gujarat," the source said.

While BJP's Damoh district vice president Amit Bajaj claimed responsibility for the incident, Madhya Pradesh BJP unit president VD Sharma condemned it.

BJP leaders threw ink at the district education officer of Damoh in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday accusing him of favouring a private school at the centre of a hijab row. 

While BJP's Damoh district vice president Amit Bajaj claimed responsibility for the incident, Madhya Pradesh BJP unit president VD Sharma condemned it.

Ink was thrown on the district education officer (DEO) of Damoh in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday by some BJP functionaries who accused him of favouring a private school which was at the centre of a row over headscarf allegedly being part of the uniform.
The incident occurred when DEO SK Mishra's vehicle was moving out of the office campus in the afternoon.
BJP's Damoh district vice president Amit Bajaj claimed responsibility for the ink attack.
The incident was condemned by Madhya Pradesh BJP unit president VD Sharma.
The state Education Department last week suspended the recognition of Ganga Jamuna Higher Secondary School following a controversy over a poster showing girls, including Hindu students, wearing headscarves that looked like hijab as part of the uniform.
A couple of students of the school alleged that Hindu students were being forced to wear hijabs and offer namaz in the school.
Initially, the DEO had given a clean chit to the school but the district collector later constituted a probe committee on the directives of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
After throwing the ink on the DEO, Bajaj alleged Mishra had tried to suppress the issue though he was aware of illegal activities in the school.
Reacting to the incident, Mishra said some suspects have thrown ink suddenly and he didn't know their names.
"But their faces are known. Their bills about school maintenance work remained pending due to late deposit and funds were lapsed," he claimed.
Mishra said he didn't conduct any inquiry into the school issue and had nothing to do with it directly as alleged.
Damoh Superintendent of Police, Rakesh Kumar Singh, said no complaint of an ink attack has been received so far.
&ldquo;The law is taking its own course in the Ganga Jamuna School incident and the guilty will be punished, but no one has the right to commit an act like throwing ink on a government official after being swayed by emotions. The BJP does not support such incidents,&rdquo; V D Sharma tweeted.
Following the incident, district BJP chief Pritam Singh Lodhi has issued a show cause notice to Bajaj, local functionary Monti Raikwar, and another leader for their involvement.&nbsp;

A total of 14,961 blots were seized as part of the about two-week long operation and the blots are of "gammagoblin and holy spirit of asura" brand, Singh said.
The deputy DG further said that till now, the highest seizure of LSD was 5,000 blots by the Karnataka Police during the entire span of 2021 and about a similar amount of blots by the Kolkata NCB in 2022 in a single operation. &nbsp;LSD abuse is largely prevalent among youngsters and it can lead to serious health issues, Singh said.

Possession of 0.1 gram of LSD (about six blots), which is the commercial quantity for the hallucinogenic drug, invites strict legal action under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, leading to denial of bail and rigorous imprisonment in jail for the person who trades or consumes it, an NCB officer said.
NCB's deputy DG Singh said the latest seizure of about 15,000 LSD blots is 2,500 times of the commercial quantity.
He said the LSD seized by them was sourced from Poland and the Netherlands and this syndicate was trafficking it across various states by taking payments through cryptocurrency and UPI, and the contraband was shipped through couriers and postal networks.
The NCB, the officials said, is trying to freeze the crypto funds too. &nbsp;"The suppliers and consumers intercepted by us had no personal interaction and every contact was on the darknet," Singh said.
He said the operation was undertaken by a special team of the Delhi zonal unit of the federal anti-narcotics agency after they "patrolled" the darknet for many hours.
Darknet refers to the deep hidden internet platform that is used for narcotics sale, exchange of pornographic content and other illegal activities by using the secret alleys of the onion router (ToR) to stay away from the surveillance of law enforcement agencies. &nbsp;Apart from the LSD blots, 2.32 kgs of ganja and Rs 4.65 lakh cash have been seized while bank deposits worth Rs 20 lakh have been frozen, the deputy DG said.
NCB zonal director (Delhi) Gyanendra Kumar Singh said those arrested are mostly educated and are young.
"One is a student who is from Goa but enrolled at a private university in Noida, another is a Delhi boy who was trying to send some of these blots to Kashmir and a girl who has been arrested from the NCR," the zonal director said.
A supplier based in Jaipur and a man from Kerala have also been arrested, he said.
