Sikkim Govt Enforces Strict Compliance on Employee Transfers

The Sikkim Personnel Department mandates strict adherence to transfer policies, with disciplinary action for non-compliance and employee reassignment for refusal.

Sikkim Govt Enforces Strict Compliance on Employee Transfers

Gangtok, June 30 (PTI): The Sikkim government's Department of Personnel has reinforced its policy on employee transfers with a new circular released on Monday, emphasizing the need for timely compliance.

The circular highlights the obligation of departmental heads to ensure that employees are promptly relieved upon receiving transfer orders and report to their new postings without delay.

For employees transferred within the same station, the directive mandates an immediate commencement of duties at the new location. Meanwhile, those moving across different stations are required to join their new roles within six days, not counting Sundays and government holidays.

The initiative follows a recent review that identified instances where employees remained in their previous posts despite being transferred, with departmental heads submitting requests to retain them instead of executing the transfer.

Non-compliance with these directives will result in disciplinary action against the implicated Heads of Departments.

Moreover, employees refusing to comply with transfer orders will be reassigned to the Directorate of Coordination under the Home Department. The circular calls for rigorous enforcement to facilitate smooth transitions and maintain administrative discipline across departments.
