'Shameless BJP minister': Mahua slams Giriraj over 'thumka' comment on Mamata

BJP minister Giriraj Singh is under fire for making a "misogynistic" comment on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

He apparently tried to mock Banerjee for performing 'thumkas' during an event with Bollywood stars on stage.

TMC MP Mahua Moitra slammed the BJP leader over what she called was a misogynistic comment against the only woman chief minister of India.

"Such shameless ministers can say such things against the only woman Chief Minister, that is why this is the condition of India. BJP Government and BJP ministers are all misogynist and patriarchal, and they dislike women," said Moitra.

Meanwhile, TMC MPs staged a protest, holding placards calling Giriraj shameless, inside the Parliament premises. They demanded his expulsion from the cabinet.
