Tragic Autorickshaw-Truck Collision Claims Four Lives in Ranchi

Ranchi, Aug 14 (PTI) A tragic accident claimed the lives of four family members and left a woman severely injured in Ranchi due to a head-on collision between an autorickshaw and a truck, according to police reports on Thursday.

The unfortunate incident unfolded at Chamghati on the Ranchi–Purulia Road under the jurisdiction of Angara police station on Wednesday night.

"Four family members, including two women, lost their lives in this tragic event. One woman sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi for treatment," stated Angara police station in-charge Hiralal Sah to PTI.

The police indicated that the autorickshaw was heading towards Ranchi when it collided head-on with a truck en route to Muri.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the fatal collision. The impact was so severe that it caused the truck to overturn; however, the driver managed to flee the scene, police reported.
