Cabinet Minister Attends Mega PTM in Pathankot, Announces Major Infrastructure Boost and Educational Tours for Meritorious Students

Reaffirming the Punjab government’s dedication to providing quality education, Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak actively participated in the Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) held at government schools in Sarna and Malikpur. The event, part of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s initiative, aimed to enhance the education system by encouraging parental feedback and strengthening teacher-student-parent engagement.

Government schools across Pathankot hosted Mega PTMs, witnessing enthusiastic participation from parents and students. At Government High School, Sarna, and Government Senior Secondary School, Malikpur, Minister Kataruchak interacted with parents and students, gathering valuable feedback and directing school heads to implement necessary improvements. He was accompanied by District Education Officer (Secondary) Rajesh Kumar, District President BC Wing Naresh Kumar, Vijay Kumar Kataruchak, Block President Pawan Kumar, and other officials.

Speaking at the event, the Cabinet Minister emphasized the Mann government’s commitment to delivering high-quality education across Punjab. He highlighted various reforms and initiatives introduced to enhance the learning experience in government schools, gaining widespread appreciation from parents. He noted a positive shift in public perception, with many now choosing government schools over private institutions due to the state’s progressive education policies.

During his media interaction, Minister Kataruchak shared that parents had expressed overall satisfaction with government school education. He also assured immediate action on a request from parents at Government High School, Sarna, for leveling the sports ground by adding soil, directing the Pathankot Deputy Commissioner to address the matter without delay.

₹2.63 Crore Allocated for School Infrastructure Development in Pathankot

Highlighting the government’s continued investment in education, Minister Kataruchak announced that ₹2.63 crore has been recently sanctioned for infrastructure development in Pathankot district schools. The funds will be utilized to enhance basic amenities and create a more conducive learning environment for students.

In another major announcement, the Minister revealed that the Punjab government, after successfully organizing training programs for teachers and principals at national and international levels, has now decided to send promising students on educational tours across various states. This initiative aims to provide exposure and learning opportunities beyond classrooms. The first batch of bright students from Pathankot will soon embark on a 6-day educational tour, expanding their knowledge and experience.

With such transformative measures, the Punjab government continues to revolutionize the education sector, ensuring students receive quality learning experiences and access to world-class educational resources. The Mega PTM initiative stands as a testament to the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a robust and progressive education system.
