A day after fugitive Amritpal Singh released a video message, appealing to Sikhs around the world to 'unite for a larger cause', a purported audio clip allegedly of the self styled leader of the Khalistan movement has gone viral on social media platforms.
In the audio clip, the man, purportedly Amritpal, denies claims that he had put forth some demands before the Punjab government for surrender.
'I am not afraid of going to jail or police custody. Let them do what they want,' the man in the audio clip can be heard saying, according to media reports.

A viral video on social media shows BJP MLA Jadab Lal Nath allegedly watching porn during the first three-day session of the newly constitued Tripura Assembly, as per media reports.

According to an Indian Express report, Congress party wrote to YouTube earlier in March suggesting that it suspects viewership of Rahul&rsquo;s two videos on Adani were suppressed after the issue was flagged by Congress member Sam Pitroda in a letter to YouTube CEO Neal Mohan on March 11.

The country had reported 3,016 cases on Thursday with a case positivity rate of 2.73 per cent which declined to 2.61 per cent today. The weekly positivity rate jumped to 1.91 per cent today from 1.71 per cent yesterday.

Some of the steps being taken by Beijing along the India-China border have been provocative, a top White House official has said while reiterating that the United States is destined to work more closely with New Delhi Kurt Campbell, the Deputy Assistant to the US President and Coordinator for the Indo-Pacific, told a Washington-based think-tank that India is not an ally of the United States and will never be so.
"But it does not mean that we will not be close partners and share many things. That's how we need to understand the role that India will play as a great nation on the global stage.
"We want to encourage that and support that and deepen this relationship, which is already very strong, probably the strongest people-to-people relationship of any country that the United States has on the global stage," he said.
The think tank -- Centre for a New American Security -- in a report said that the India-China border intrusions and clashes have become more frequent and threaten to lead to all-out conflict.
The increased prospect of India-China border hostility has implications for the United States and its Indo-Pacific strategy between the two Asian giants, it said.
The report said that Indian officials believe China is trying to contain India by forcing it to divert more resources into defending simultaneously both its western border with Pakistan and eastern flank with China and by weakening its willingness and ability to challenge Chinese ambitions to dominate the region.
Campbell told the think-tank, "Some of the steps that China has taken along this vast 5,000-mile border had been provocative and deeply concerning to Indian partners and friends." The think tank's report, authored by Lisa Curtis and Derek Grossman, has made several recommendations to help deter and respond to further Chinese aggression along the border with India.

"The 18 hours long rescue operation started at around 12:30 on Thursday, and is still ongoing," Collector Ilayaraja T said.&nbsp;

A rescue operation led by the Madhya Pradesh police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Emergency and Response Force (SDERF) and district administration is still underway. The roof of a stepwell caved in during special pooja of Ram Navami at the Indore temple.&nbsp;
"The 18 hours long rescue operation started at around 12:30 on Thursday, and is still ongoing," Collector Ilayaraja T said.&nbsp;
A magisterial inquiry has been ordered in the matter.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced ₹5 lakh exgratia to the kin of the deceased while ₹50,000 to the injured. The exgratia of ₹2 lakh will also be given through Prime Minister Relief Fund.

Accompanied by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, PM Modi had a look at the facilities coming up at both Houses of Parliament, according to media reports.
The new building, which was earlier expected to be completed by November last year, is likely to be inaugurated soon.
In December 2020, Prime Minister Modi had laid the foundation stone of the new parliament building which will have modern facilities.

PTI reported that a large number of people had gathered on the roof of the ancient temple and it caved in as it was unable to bear the load. 19 people were rescued.
Speaking to reporters, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narrotam Mishra said that 14 people were killed in the mishap. 12 bodies have been recovered from the spot while 19 were rescued. Among the rescued people, two people succumbed to injuries. India Today said&nbsp;
Several videos following the incident showed chaos and rescue operations at the temple.
