UP Election 2022: Arvind Kejriwal offers prayers at Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya

As political heat rises in Uttar Pradesh ahead of next year's Assembly polls, all political roads lead to Ayodhya. The latest to do a political parikrama in the temple town is Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

On Tuesday, Kejriwal offered prayers at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya and announced that his government's free pilgrimage scheme or 'Tirth Yatra Yojana' will now include the temple town of Ayodhya as well.

He also visited the Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya on the second day of his Ayodhya visit.

Ram Mandir at Ayodhya is a big political issue in the next polls as it is the first election since the Supreme Court verdict paved way for the construction of the temple.

As the BJP has left no stone unturned to corner credit for the Ram Mandir, political parties are making a beeline at Ayodhya to be seen as Ram bhakts.

The Aam Aadmi Party, which is the new entrant in the UP battleground, had kicked off its poll campaign in September this year from Ayodhya. The party will contest all 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.
