NIA detains three suspected PFI members in Bihar

Three suspected members of the banned Popular Front of India outfit were detained by a joint team of the National Investigation Agency and Bihar Police in East Champaran district on Saturday in connection with a threat to attack Ram Temple in Ayodhya, according to India Today.

They were picked up from the Chakia sub-division in the morning.

“Three suspected members of the PFI were picked up by the NIA with the active help of Bihar Police. They were detained for joint interrogation by the state police and the central agencies. More detentions cannot be ruled out,” Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters), J S Gangwar, told reporters in Patna.

Citing sources, the report said, the federal agency's crackdown was triggered after a video went viral on social media where a person named Usman threatened to bring down the Ram temple and build Babri Masjid in the same place.
