'Mad man': Owaisi on Pakistan minister who called T20 win a 'victory of islam'

Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has lambasted the Pakistan minister who called Pakistan win over India in T20 World Cup match a "victory of Islam".

Calling Pakistan interior minister Sheikh Rasheed a "mad man", Owaisi asked what has Islam got to do with cricket?

Addressing a public rally in UP's Muzaffarnagar on Wednesday, Owaisi mocked the neighbouring country by saying that thankfully our elders didn't go to Pakistan or we would have to face such stupidity.

Pakistan’s interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had called Pakistan’s victory over India in the ongoing World Cup T20 match ‘a victory of Islam’. Rasheed also went on to say that “sentiments of all the Muslims of the world including the Muslims of India were with the cricket team of Pakistan.”

Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets, securing their first-ever World Cup victory against the men in blue. The match was held in Dubai International Stadium and fans of Pakistan celebrated the sweet victory with fervour.
