Lok Sabha: Uddhav camp thrown out of Shiv Sena office as Secretariat allots space to Shinde faction

In a fresh setback to Uddhav Thackeray and his followers, the opposing Eknath Shinde faction of the Shiv Sena was allotted the party office in Parliament House on 21 February 2023.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat allotted the office to Shinde's camp after it was recognised as the real Shiv Sena by the Election Commission, and granted the 'bow and arrow' symbol of the party, practically denying Uddhav Thackeray a claim on the party his father, Bal Thackeray, founded in 1966.

On 18 February, Shinde faction's floor leader Rahul Shewale had written to the Secretariat seeking allotment of the Sena office. Until now, both the Uddhav and Shinde factions had been using the office.

Meanwhile, the Thackeray faction moved the Supreme Court which has agreed to hear its plea against the EC ruling on 22 February.
