INDIA Bloc Seeks Supreme Court Intervention on EVM Discrepancies

The opposition INDIA bloc in Maharashtra plans to petition the Supreme Court, alleging manipulation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the recent assembly elections.

The decision was announced by Prashant Jagtap, leader of the NCP-Sharad Pawar faction, who lost the Hadapsar seat in Pune.

The move follows a meeting in Delhi on Tuesday evening involving NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, and senior Congress leader and lawyer Abhishek Singhvi.

The INDIA bloc claims the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition’s overwhelming victory—securing 235 of the 288 seats—was influenced by tampered EVMs. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance managed only 46 seats in the assembly.

Sharad Pawar has been meeting party leaders who suffered defeats in the election, fueling the bloc's determination to challenge the results. During the meeting, Arvind Kejriwal also raised concerns about voter lists in Delhi, where assembly elections are scheduled early next year.
