West Bengal SSC scam: who is Arpita Mukherjee in whose house ₹20 cr cash was found

West Bengal SSC scam: Following the raids by Enforcement Directorate at the residences of West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee and his 'close aide' Arpita Mukherjee, the spotlight is now on Arpita from whose house ₹20 crore in cash has been seized by ED.

Arpita has acted in a few Bangla, Odia and Tamil films.

Her Facebook bio reads that she is a multi-talented versatile actor, having worked in several films in Tollywood.

She acted in Bangla movies alongside Bangla superstars like Prosenjit Chatterjee in 2009 film 'Mama Bhagne' and Jeet in 2008 film 'Partner'.

Arpita was also the face of promotional campaigns for Partha Chatterjee’s Durga Puja committee in 2019 and 2020.

Following the probe, photos of Arpita and Partha were shared by by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Twitter in which CM Mamata Banerjee can also be seen.

Notably, Partha's committee is one of the biggest Durga Puja committees in Kolkata.

As per various reports, Partha Chatterjee frequently visited Arpita Mukherjee's residence from where ₹20 cr in cash and over 20 mobile handsets have been recovered.

While Partha Chatterjee has been arrested, the ED has detained Arpita Mukherjee.
