Akhilesh's first Lok Sabha speech goes viral, there's a Dimple Yadav link

Akhilesh Yadav delivered his first speech in the 18th Lok Sabha on Wednesday, shortly after Om Birla was re-elected as the Speaker of the lower house. His short address fetched varied reactions -- one from the Speaker and other from his wife and fellow MP Dimple Yadav.

Yadav landed cheeky jibes on Birla and urged him to be "impartial" as the new Lok Sabha took its place. "We expect that no public representative's voice will be stifled, nor will an action like expulsion take place again. Your control is on the Opposition but it should be on the ruling side too. The House should function on your signals and not the other way around," he said.

Om Birla could be seen putting up a broad smile as Akhilesh took pot shots intermittently in his speech.

As the Samajwadi Party chief delivered his remarks, Dimple could be seen smiling and smirking in the backdrop. She was seated just one row behind the Kannauj MP.

Social media was quick to react to this and ended up labelling the two SP leaders as "couple goals."
