After Mamata's 'no UPA' scorn, Prashant Kishor heaps insult on Congress injury

A day after West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee scorned at the Congress declaring that there is no UPA, political strategist and Prashant Kishor has heaped more insult to the Grand Old Party's injury.

Kishor, who helped strategise Mamata's landslide win over the BJP in West Bengal, has made a sharp attack on the Congress leadership and has called for deciding on the Opposition leadership democratically.

"The IDEA and SPACE that #Congress represents is vital for a strong opposition. But Congress’ leadership is not the DIVINE RIGHT of an individual especially, when the party has lost more than 90% elections in last 10 years. Let opposition leadership be decided Democratically," Kishor tweeted on Thursday.

The tweet is being seen as direct attack on the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress and Trinamool relations tanked after Mamata's "there is no UPA" declaration on Wednesday. While senior party leader Kapil Sibal tweeted that Congress is the soul of UPA, party MP from West Bengal Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury called Mamata Banerjee "BJP's oxygen supplier" over rocking the opposition boat.
