Angered by a power cut at his house, a man allegedly made a hoax call that a bomb was planted at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' house in Maharashtra's Nagpur on Tuesday, police said.
The police traced the 30-year-old caller to Kanhan town, around 30 km from the city, and have detained him, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said.
The Nagpur police's control room received a call around 2 am from a man claiming that a bomb had been planted outside Fadnavis' house. However, the caller abruptly disconnected the call, he said.
A police team with a bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) and dog squad were rushed to the deputy chief minister's house near Trikoni Park in Dharampeth and a thorough check was carried out inside and outside the premises, but no explosives were found, the senior official said.
Fadnavis and his family are currently in Mumbai, he said.

The CM told the Jathedar of Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikhs, that it would have been better had he issued the ultimatum in the sacrilege and missing 'saroops' of Guru Granth Sahib.
Mann's reaction came a day after the Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpeet Singh had given a 24-hour ultimatum to the AAP government to release all Sikh youths who were held during the police crackdown against radical preacher Amritpal Singh and his aides.
The Jathedar also condemned the state government for invoking the National Security Act against a few people during the police crackdown.
The Jathedar of Akal Takht in Amritsar had convened a special gathering of Sikh organizations, including intellectuals, Sikh lawyers, journalists, religious and social leaders to discuss the current situation in Punjab following the March 18 action against elements of 'Waris Punjab De' headed by Amritpal Singh.
Lambasting the Jathedar over his ultimatum, Mann in a tweet in Punjabi said, "Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib ji. Everyone knows you and SGPC have been favouring the Badals.
Look at the history, many Jathedars were used by the Badals for their own interests. It would have been better had you given the ultimatum for the sacrilege and missing 'saroops' of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji instead of provoking happily living people." The incidents related to the theft of a 'bir' (copy) of the Guru Granth Sahib, putting up handwritten sacrilegious posters, and torn pages of the holy book being found scattered at Bargari had taken place in Faridkot in 2015.
In another case, 328 'saroops' (copies) of Guru Granth Sahib had gone missing from the records of the publication house of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.&nbsp;

The court sought aid of ChatGPT -- an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot -- while hearing the bail plea of an accused in a murder case.
Justice Anoop Chitkara, in his order on Monday, however, made it clear that any reference to ChatGPT and any observation made is neither an expression of opinion on the merits of the case nor shall the trial court advert to these comments.
"This reference is only intended to present a broader picture on bail jurisprudence, where cruelty is a factor," the judge observed.
While dismissing the bail plea, the judge observed "causing death itself is cruel but if the cruelty causes death, the tables turn".
"When the physical assault is done with an element of cruelty, the parameters of bail also change," he further observed.
"...when the offence is heinous and the crime is brutal, cruelty becomes one of the factors in granting or refusing bail. The impact of individuals who act with cruelty is devastating not only for those on whom the direct harm and pain is inflicted but also on a systemic level.
"Cruel individuals contribute to sustain the greater deficiencies of society like gender, economic and social inequalities. Once the courts form a prima facie opinion that the accused acted with cruelty, then such an accused ordinarily should not be granted bail, and if the courts still deem it appropriate to grant, then it must be after specifying the reasons for such an indulgence".
The judge, in his order, stated that "to further assess the worldwide view on bail when the assault was laced with cruelty, the use of artificial intelligence platform which has been trained with multitudinous data was made".
What is the jurisprudence on bail when the assailants assaulted with cruelty? this was the question put to ChatGPT, according to the order.
The response of ChatGPT was: "The jurisprudence on bail for cases where the assailants have assaulted with cruelty will depend on the specific circumstances of the case and the laws and regulations of the jurisdiction where the case is being tried. However, in general, if the assailants have been charged with a violent crime that involves cruelty, such as murder, aggravated assault, or torture, they may be considered a danger to the community and a flight risk." "In such cases, the judge may be less inclined to grant bail or may set the bail amount very high to ensure that the defendant appears in court and does not pose a risk to public safety. The severity of the assault, the defendant's criminal history, and the strength of the evidence against them are all factors that a judge will consider when deciding whether to grant bail.
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; "It is important to note that the presumption of innocence is a fundamental principle of the justice system, and all defendants are entitled to bail unless there are compelling reasons to deny it. Therefore, even in cases where the assailants have assaulted with cruelty, they may still be granted bail if the judge determines that they do not pose a risk to the community or a flight risk," read the text generated by AI tool.
According to the case record, the petitioner is a Punjab resident. An FIR in the matter for murder and other offences was registered against the petitioner and his accomplices in June 2020 at a police station in Ludhiana district.
The petitioner's counsel argued that he is entitled to bail on grounds of parity.
The state opposed the bail plea contending that "given the criminal past, the accused is likely to indulge in crime once released on bail".
The court held that in the present case, an analysis of the allegations, injuries, and evidence collected points that the accused and some of his accomplices acted with ferociousness and a total lack of mercy. Thus, does not warrant the grant of bail to the accused.&nbsp;

However, Punjab police have detained or arrested a number of his associates during the crackdown.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said he has asked the director general of police to release from preventive custody those who were not found to be involved in any anti-national activity. He, however, has added that strict action will be taken against anyone who tries to disturb peace in the state.
On Tuesday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by advocate Imaan Singh Khara, which claimed that Amritpal Singh was in the "illegal custody" of police.
Punjab Advocate General Vinod Ghai told the court that Amritpal Singh has not been arrested yet and they were coordinating with agencies to nab the radical preacher.
Later, the petitioner told reporters that the AG said in the court that they were close to catching Amritpal Singh.
Justice N S Shekhawat asked the petitioner to file an affidavit to produce evidence that Amritpal Singh was in police custody and pointed out that the state's stand was that the preacher had not been arrested.
The court told the petitioner it would appoint a warrant officer if evidence was placed before it to show that Amritpal Singh was in illegal detention.
The court fixed March 29 as the next date of hearing in the case.
On March 21, the court rapped the Punjab government over the intelligence failure that allowed Amritpal Singh to escape the police crackdown.

The Rajasthan Police on Monday arrested 2,518 offenders including 228 history-sheeters in Bharatpur range as part of a special drive to nab criminals.
The police arrested 2,051 criminals in Kota, Jaipur ranges and Churu district under the campaign on Sunday.
DGP Umesh Mishra said the special operation is being conducted under the supervision of Additional Director General (ADG-Crime) Dinesh M N.
On Monday, the action was taken in four districts of Bharatpur range- Bharatpur, Dhaulpur, Karauli and Sawai Madhopur.
Mishra said 500 teams comprising around 3,750 police personnel were engaged in the drive on Monday.
"These teams raided 2,860 places and arrested 2,518 criminals. While 805 criminals have been arrested in Bharatpur, the number stood at 460 in Dholpur, 530 in Karauli and 723 in Sawai Madhopur districts," he said.
A gun, 23 country-made revolvers, one pistol, 25 live cartridges and five sharp-edged weapons were also seized during the raids. Apart from these, illegal liquor and narcotics substances were also seized.
He said five cases relating to illegal mining have been registered and four people have been arrested and five tractor-trolleys with 21.5 tonnes of sand have been seized.&nbsp;

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a caveat application in the Supreme Court on the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha's plea challenging the summons issued by the probe agency against her in connection to Delhi excise policy case.
A Caveat application is filed by a litigant to ensure that no adverse order is passed against them without being heard.
Kavitha, who is the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has approached the Supreme court saying that as per norms, a woman cannot be summoned for questioning before ED in office and her questioning should take place at her residence.
On March 15, the Supreme Court agreed to hear Kavitha's plea challenging the summons of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 24.

Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh managed to escape Punjab Police yet again on Tuesday evening.
The police were chasing a white Innova car coming from Phagwara to Hoshiarpur on the suspicion that Amritpal Singh and his aide Papalpreet Singh were in the car.
However, the vehicle zoomed past the police checkpoint in Hoshiarpur. The police say Singh abandoned the car near a Gurudwara and fled but they managed to catch two of his aides.
A massive night search operation was launched in nearby areas.&nbsp;
