PM Modi Unveils Prolific Vision for India's Future from Red Fort

New Delhi, Aug 15 (PTI) On the 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi set an ambitious agenda for India's future during his address from the Red Fort. He outlined plans for pioneering developments such as creating India's first semiconductor chip, ambitious expansion in nuclear power, and pushing towards self-sufficiency in jet engine production, all with the aim of propelling India into the league of developed nations by 2047.

Reminiscing about past failures to establish semiconductor industries, Modi emphasized that previous ventures failed "at birth," yet now India is on a determined path. “India is on mission mode,” he declared, announcing that the first Made in India semiconductor chip is expected by the end of this year.

Highlighting nuclear capabilities, Modi stated that India's nuclear energy capacity would increase tenfold by 2047. Work is in progress on ten new nuclear reactors to boost atomic power substantially in the coming decades.

In aviation, the Prime Minister challenged the country's scientists and youth to innovate in jet engine technology for aerospace self-reliance. “I urge the young scientists, talented youngsters, engineers, professionals, and all departments of the government that we should develop our jet engines for our own Made in India fighter jets,” he said.

Modi also announced upcoming GST reforms, promising a Diwali surprise for the nation. “Next-generation GST reforms will be unveiled on Diwali,” targeting tax reductions on essential items and alleviating pressures on MSMEs, local vendors, and consumers.

A Reform Task Force has been set up to spearhead economic reforms, aiming to streamline red tape and equip India for the aspirations of a USD 10 trillion economy by 2047.

Further highlighting fiscal policy, Modi launched a substantial Rs 1 lakh crore employment scheme. This initiative ensures that newly-employed youth will receive Rs 15,000 monthly, intending to support three crore young Indians, paving the way from Swatantra Bharat to Samriddha Bharat.

Addressing security concerns, he pinpointed demographic imbalances caused by infiltration and illegal migration in border regions. A high-powered Demography Mission will be initiated to tackle these challenges, protecting national integrity and citizen rights.

In pursuit of energy autonomy, the Prime Minister announced a Deepwater Exploration Mission to harness oceanic resources and unveiled expansions in solar, hydrogen, hydro, and nuclear energy.
