PM Modi's 3-day, 3-nation Europe trip: 25 engagements, meeting with 8 world leaders on the cards

Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for his three-day, three-nation Europe trip where he's scheduled for 25 engagements and meetings with 8 world leaders.

PM Modi will hold bilateral and multilateral meetings during his tour, interact with 50 global business leaders and interact with the Indian diaspora.

Ukraine issue will figure in the talks as part of discussions on regional and global developments.

In Germany, the PM will hold meetings with Chancellor Olaf Scholz. PM Modi and Scholz will co-chair the 6th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations.

Reports say Scholz is expected to woo India with invite to G-7 in a push to isolate Russia. India's presence at the upcoming G-7 was undecided until a few weeks ago.

India has so far not publicly condemned Russia's actions in Ukraine.

India's foreign secretary on Sunday reiterated the country's "clear" position on Ukraine and called for the cessation of hostilities and resolution of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.
From Germany, the prime minister will travel to Denmark at the invitation of Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and attend the second India-Nordic Summit.

In Denmark, PM Modi is also scheduled to hold separate bilateral talks with leaders of Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland.

In France, Modi will hold extensive talks with President Emmanuel Macron, who was re-elected to office last week.
