PM Modi leaves for Italy, UK visit. Here’s what's on agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday left for Italy to attend 16th G20 Leaders' Summit in Rome. The PM will join the G20 Leaders in discussions on global economic & health recovery from the pandemic, sustainable development & climate change.

During his Italy leg of the tour, PM Modi will also visit the Vatican City to call on Pope Francis and meet Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. He will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his first day of arrival in Rome.

From Rome, PM Modi will travel to Glasgow in UK on November 1 to attend the COP-26 World Leaders' Summit. At the summit, he will highlight the need to comprehensively address climate change issues, including equitable distribution of carbon space.

The Prime Minister said India is creating new records in a collective effort for climate adaptation and he will share India's excellent track record on climate action at the summit.
