Operation Sindoor: Father of Navy officer killed in Pahalgam attack hails retaliatory strikes

In a powerful retaliation following the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Armed Forces launched a successful strike on nine anti-India terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Wednesday morning, under the operation code-named 'Operation Sindoor'.

The attack has been hailed as a decisive step by the family of Indian Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was one of the victims of the April 22 terror assault.

Rajesh Narwal, the father of the slain officer, expressed strong support for the operation, calling it a critical action that will serve as a deterrent to future terrorist activities.

"When this happened, you came home and asked me this question: 'what do you want from the government?' and I gave you an answer that I fully trust the Indian government and it is doing its job... And today the Indian government has done that work," Rajesh Narwal said.

Narwal further commended the government's resolve, emphasizing that the airstrikes would send a lasting message to terrorists. "The Govt of India has taken the right step... This strike will always resonate in their minds and they will think a hundred times before doing such a thing in the future," he stated.

He also praised the operation’s name, calling it significant for the victims' families. "This Operation was named aptly. With this action, all 26 families will get justice," Narwal added.

Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who had recently returned from a wedding reception held just days before the attack, was posted in Kochi and had visited Jammu and Kashmir on leave. He was in Pahalgam with his wife when the terrorists launched the attack.

The strikes targeted nine terror sites in Pakistan, including key locations such as Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot, as well as five sites in PoJK. The operation involved a coordinated effort by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, utilizing precision munitions. Sources confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was closely monitoring the operation throughout the night.

The Indian forces specifically targeted top leaders of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), two groups known for orchestrating terrorist activities against India. The success of the operation has been seen as a major step in holding terrorists accountable and ensuring justice for the victims of the Pahalgam attack.
