On cam: Speeding car fatally tosses Chennai man in air

A pedestrian was killed in a horrific road accident in Chennai. Surveillance footage shows a speeding car ramming into the man and knocking him in the air. The man reportedly died on the spot.

The car came to a halt after crashing into other parked cars. Bystanders were seen running towards the crash in an attempt to aid the injured.

The driver, who was identified as Jayakumar, has now been arrested by law enforcement officials, as per India Today. The man who died was identified as Palani.

While Chennai police officials continue to investigate the fatal road accident, a case has been registered against the driver.

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police said that at least 216 people had died in road accidents in the city between January 1 and June 20, 2023, as per Indian Express.
