"With Operation Sindoor, we have avenged Pahalgam. I am proud of our soldiers and armed forces. Our war was to teach Pakistan a lesson," he said.
Sinha met the families displaced by the recent cross-border shelling and reassured them of the government's full support.
"Our armed forces have time and again demonstrated their capability to respond decisively to any threat posed by Pakistan. This country harbours and exports terror, causing immense suffering through its actions in our territory,&rdquo; he added.
He said the nation stands in solidarity with the victims and reaffirmed the Government of India and Union Territory administration's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
Speaking on the retaliatory military action, the LG said, "On the night of May 6&ndash;7, our armed forces executed a precise and powerful strike through Operation Sindoor." "The operation not only demonstrated our unwavering resolve and commendable restraint but also demolished terror factories across the border and avenged the killing of innocent civilians in Pahalgam," Sinha said.
"Our armed forces have made it clear: any threat to the safety of our people will be met with such a response that it will be remembered for seven generations in Pakistan," Sinha said.

The 1000-page chargesheet was filed in the court of Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division) Anuj Kumar Thakur against Muskan and Sahil for offences under sections 103 (1) (punishment for murder) and 238 (A) (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Saurabh was killed on the night of March 4 at his house in Indiranagar in Meerut district. His wife, Muskan, and Sahil are accused of drugging him and stabbing him to death. It is alleged they dismembered his body, severing his head and hands, and hid the body parts in a blue drum filled with cement.
After the incident, both of them went to Himachal Pradesh.
The investigation into the sensational case revealed that Muskan had allegedly been planning the murder since November 2023, according to the police.
Saurabh was killed "not because of tantra-mantra, but because he was an obstacle in their love affair", the police claimed.
Muskan was arrested along with her lover Sahil Shukla on March 18. Earlier, Muskan "confessed" to her family, after which they were arrested.
Both the accused are currently in jail.
Brahmapuri Circle Officer Antariksh Jain told PTI on Monday that the chargesheet details the murder conspiracy, evidence and has statements of about 34 witnesses. The case has been investigated bythe Brahmapuri police station in-charge Ramakant Pachauri.
Police sources said that according to the initial plan, the two accused wanted to pack the body in a suitcase and throw it away. A piece of bone was also found in the suitcase.
According to officials, the accused have been provided a government advocate.
Meanwhile, the jail administration said that Muskan is pregnant and has been kept in the women's barracks. Her family has distanced itself from her, while Sahil's grandmother and elder brother had met him.
A jail official told PTI, "On Saturday, Sahil's brother had come to meet him." Saurabh and Muskan had a love marriage in 2016, which was opposed by the family. In 2019, the couple had a daughter.
According to the police, due to deteriorating financial condition, Saurabh had a dispute with his family and he started living in Indiranagar. During this time, the relationship between Muskan and Sahil deepened.
The police said that Saurabh had filed for divorce in 2021, but the case was withdrawn due to the child. The couple's relationship remained strained.

The image reconstruction software, being developed by the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, will assist law enforcement agencies in quickly matching facial sketches prepared from eyewitness accounts with digital images in police records, he said.
"Earlier, such comparisons had to be made manually, which was time-consuming and lacked accuracy. This new software automates the process and increases the precision of suspect identification," a police source said.
The system uses machine learning to process a sketch, filter through visual data and shortlist matching images from a central database. It allows investigators to upload suspect sketches and receive close matches in real time.
According to police officials, the software is particularly useful in cases such as murder, robbery and sexual assault, where the only clue may be a sketch based on a victim's or witness's memory.
It will also be helpful in cases where no direct image or CCTV footage of the suspect is available, they said.
"This tool...could be a game changer in solving cases where leads are limited," the officer highlighted.
Police officials said these advanced tools are already proving useful in cracking complex cyber and physical crimes. Delhi Police is already using a host of forensic and data recovery technologies, including the software for retrieving data from corrupted storage devices and mobile phones.

He further instructed them to expedite the steps for providing assistance from the Chief Minister&rsquo;s Distress Relief Fund, deploying officials, and removing debris from water bodies to ensure smooth water flow, the release added.
In addition to the CM, Cabinet ministers K Rajan and K N Balagopal, Chief Secretary A Jayathilak, and other senior officials attended the meeting, the CMO statement added.

The minimum daily wage for unskilled workers has been increased from Rs 452 to Rs 462, and from Rs 502 to Rs 512 for semi-skilled workers. Skilled workers will get Rs 562, instead of Rs 552, and the minimum wage for highly-skilled labourers will be Rs 612 from Rs 602 earlier.
The revision will be effective retrospectively from April 1, a CMO release said.

These two upcoming projects -- Marriott Resort &amp; Spa and Fairfield by Marriott -- will be huge and unique as they will be developed on 76 bigha (over 25 acre) of land, he said.
"The MOUs for these projects worth Rs 500 crore were signed during the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment summit earlier this year and work has begun within just three months," Sarma said.
"With 11 five-star hotels in the pipeline, Guwahati is becoming a hub for global hospitality chains who are seizing the opportunity to cater to the huge demand in the region," he said.
Sharing details, the CM said there will be four more Marriott hotels in the city, followed by two new Taj properties and one of the Lemon Tree.
"Radisson is expanding by 100 more keys. In place of the present Vivanta, Taj is coming up. These projects are expected to significantly strengthen Assam's hospitality infrastructure and create substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing to the state's economic growth," he said.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police and the local Station House Officer oversaw the exercise.
"This drill was part of our ongoing preparedness initiative to ensure rapid response in case of emergencies, especially at sensitive and crowded public locations," a police officer said.
The fire department conducted a drill at Delite Cinema in central Delhi's Daryaganj to assess their fire and evacuation protocols in case of an emergency.
At RG Complex in north Rohini, a drill simulating an abandoned bag scenario was conducted under the supervision of the local police.
The officer said these exercises are routine yet critical components of city-wide security measures, particularly in view of ongoing alerts and large public gatherings.

Villagers living close to the Line of Control who were forced to flee due to heavy shelling by the Pakistani military started returning home on Monday.
They started their journey back to their villages after bomb disposal squads cleared the residential areas of any leftover or unexploded shells, officials said.
"We are happy that a ceasefire has been reached between the two countries. We are also hopeful that Pakistan will not resort to such activities again," said Arshad Ahmad, a resident of the Kamalkote area in Uri.
Uri MLA Sajjad Shafi has asked the residents of villages along the frontline to remain vigilant and not touch anything suspicious.
"They should immediately report any suspicious objects to the authorities for proper disposal," he said.
Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday asked the residents of border villages not to rush back as residential areas were yet to be sanitised and cleared of any unexplored shells.
In Punjab, markets teemed with people in the border areas on Monday, even though schools in some districts remained shut.
Schools in Ferozepur, Fazilka, Pathankot, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, and Gurdaspur districts, that lie on the border with Pakistan, remained shut on Monday. In Pathankot and Gurdaspur, colleges and universities also remained closed.
Punjab shares a 553-km frontier with Pakistan.
"India has taught a lesson to Pakistan and it has been successful in sending a strong message to the neighbouring nation. And now Pakistan, which is a rogue nation, will not dare to cast an evil eye on our country," a grocery shop owner in Pathankot said.
Pakistan especially targeted Pathankot with multiple drone attacks, but they were thwarted by the Indian security forces.
In Ferozepur, villagers who had moved to safer places were returning to their villages.
Daler Singh, a native of Jallo Ke village near the border, said that most residents of nearby areas had left hearth and home. "Now, most of them have returned but they remain cautious. Overall, life is normal and we are going back to our fields," he said.
A Ferozepur native said, "The situation is normal now. We hope the ceasefire holds and peace prevails." In Rajasthan, a complete blackout was observed in the border districts Sunday night.
There were reports that some red lights, suspected to be of drones, were spotted in the sky in Barmer.
The district administration sent out an alert on X, "Incoming drone activity spotted. Please stay inside your houses and observe blackout: DM Barmer." It, however, said no drone was shot down.
By Monday morning, an apparent sense of normalcy became palpable in the border districts with people gathering at tea stalls and shops and bantering.
Jalam Singh, a Jaisalmer local, said, "Things appear to be back to normal now. Last night was peaceful." Jammu and Kashmir, the worst hit border, was peaceful last night with no hostilities between the Indian and Pakistani militaries.
"The night remained largely peaceful across Jammu and Kashmir and other areas along the international border," the Indian Army said in a brief statement Monday morning.
"No incidents have been reported, marking the first calm night in recent days," it said.
