New guidelines for international arrivals in India amid Covid concerns

The govt has issued a fresh set of guidelines for people flying to India amid renewed concerns over spread of Covid-19.

All passengers arriving in India should preferably be fully vaccinated as per the approved primary schedule of vaccination in their country, the health ministry guidelines said.

Anyone with symptoms of Covid-19 during travel must be isolated as per standard protocol. They should wear a mask, be segregated from other passengers in flight and shifted to an isolation facility subsequently for follow-up treatment, as per the new rules.

Everyone should be subjected to thermal screening at the point of entry and those passengers who are found to be symptomatic during screening must be immediately isolated and taken to a designated medical facility as per health protocol.
