Deepak Pandey had also issued orders to religious places in Nashik directing them to take permission for using loudspeakers by May 3 or face legal action.

Nashik Police Commissioner Deepak Pandey has been transferred days after he announced that no one will be allowed to play bhajans or songs on loudspeaker 15 minutes before and after the azaan call in a radius of 100 m of any mosque.

Pandey had also issued orders to religious places in Nashik directing them to take permission for using loudspeakers by May 3 or face legal action.

The directive was in response to an 'ultimatum' given by MNS president Raj Thackeray that repercussions would follow if loudspeakers on mosques were not removed by May 3.

Pandey had also been reprimanded by the state govt for writing to Maharashtra DGP Rajnish Seth accusing revenue officials and executive magistrate of corruption. He had termed them RDX and detonators.
