Nagpur Woman Escapes Pakistan Encounter

Sunita Jamgade, a Nagpur woman, mistakenly crossed into Pakistan and is set for interrogation upon return to reveal her intentions.

Nagpur Woman Escapes Pakistan Encounter

Nagpur, May 27: The Nagpur police are in the process of retrieving a 43-year-old woman, Sunita Jamgade, who reportedly crossed into Pakistan from Kargil earlier this month. The operation comes after Pakistan Rangers returned her to the Border Security Force (BSF) just this past Saturday.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 5, Niketan Kadam, Jamgade embarked on her journey from Nagpur with her 13-year-old son on May 4, eventually reaching Kargil. On May 14, she made her way across the border into Pakistan, where she was quickly apprehended by the authorities there.

Currently, Jamgade is in the custody of the Amritsar police. In response, Nagpur police have assembled a team consisting of an officer and two women constables to escort her back to the city.

"Upon her return to Nagpur, we intend to conduct a thorough interrogation to ascertain whether she engaged in espionage or other illegal activities," explained Kadam.

Initial procedures have involved the Amritsar police filing a zero First Information Report (FIR), which will subsequently be transferred to the Kapil Nagar police station in Nagpur, in alignment with her residential status.

The child who accompanied Jamgade is currently under the care of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in light of their sudden and unexplained journey from Kargil. Plans are in place for his return to Nagpur in the near future.
