Nagaland: Army's investigation team inspects site where civilians were killed

The Court of Inquiry constituted by Indian Army to investigate the killings of civilians in Mon visited the site at Oting village on Wednesday.

The inquiry team, headed by a senior rank officer, inspected the site to understand circumstances in which the incident could have happened.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army has allowed Nagaland's Special Investigation Team to question officers and jawans of 21 Para Special Forces who were involved in the botched counter-insurgency operation on December 4.

The Nagaland government had formed an 8-member SIT to probe into the killing of 14 civilians in Mon district. In a bid to expedite the probe, the SIT was later expanded to include a total of 22 officers, including five IPS officers, according to multiple reports,
