Telangana Police Arrest Eight in Land Surveyor Murder Case

Police arrested eight, including the victim's wife and her lover, in a planned murder. The plot stemmed from disrupted marriage plans, using a GPS tracker for execution. Swift arrests were made.

Telangana Police Arrest Eight in Land Surveyor Murder Case

Hyderabad, June 26 (PTI) - In a case that recalls the recent Meghalaya honeymoon murder, police in Telangana's Gadwal district have arrested eight individuals, including a newlywed woman and her lover, in connection with the murder of a land surveyor.

Authorities claim they cracked the case within a week after the disappearance of Tejeshwar, a 32-year-old land surveyor, was reported by his brother on June 18.

Tejeshwar left his home on the morning of June 17 but did not return. Initially, investigations revealed through CCTV footage that he had left in a car with people he knew.

Tragically, his body was later found near Panyam town in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh.

According to the police, the central figure in the case is Tirumala Rao, a married Manager in a housing finance company in Kurnool, who allegedly developed illicit relationships with a woman sweeper in his office and her daughter, Aishwarya (23).

Despite initially promising to marry Aishwarya, complications arose when she became engaged to Tejeshwar in December 2024, leading Tirumala Rao and Aishwarya to scheme Tejeshwar's murder.

Police revealed that Tirumala Rao enlisted Kummari Nagesh, a commission agent associated with home loans, to execute the sinister plan.

About six months ago, Rao shared his romantic entanglement with Aishwarya and his discontent about her engagement to Tejeshwar.

He provided Tejeshwar’s contact details to Nagesh and plotted to befriend and eventually eliminate Tejeshwar, promising financial help and assistance with loan files in return.

Tirumala Rao even supplied Nagesh with a GPS tracker, which they discreetly attached to Tejeshwar's bike to monitor his location.

Despite Aishwarya getting married to Tejeshwar on May 18 under familial pressure, the murder plot persisted, with the accused allegedly drawing lessons from the mistakes made in the Meghalaya case to avoid capture.

Ultimately, on June 17, Nagesh and his accomplices allegedly carried out the murder using a sickle in a car, with assistance from Tirumala Rao in disposing of the body.

Investigations disclosed that Tirumala Rao paid Rs two lakh to the trio responsible for the murder.

The arrests of the main accused and the contract killers came during a Thursday morning vehicle check, while Aishwarya was apprehended in Gadwal based on their revelations.

Police have also taken into custody Aishwarya's mother and the father of the main accused, with plans to speed up the investigation and trial, aiming for completion within the next six months.

It was further unveiled that Tirumala Rao and Aishwarya were contemplating a getaway to Ladakh or a distant location as part of their plans.
