Monekypox in India: Delhi reports third case, govt designates hospitals

With the national capital reporting cases of Monkeypox, the Arvind Kejriwal goverment in Delhi has set up at least 70 isolation rooms in various hospitals of the city.

The isolation wards in 6 hospitals have been set up as the captial has so far recorded three cases of the monkeypox virus.

Of the 70 isolation wards, the Delhi government has set up 20 rooms at LNJP Hospital which is the nodal centre for treatement of confirmed and suspected monkeypox cases.

Remaining 50 wards have been placed at government-run GTB Hospital, Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital and 3 private ones.

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has assured that the government has made all the arrangements to fight the virus.

The National Capital on Tuesday reported its third monkeypox case after a 35-year-old African national tested positive for the diease. He is currently stable and has no recent travel history to abroad.
