The CBI arrested four persons and detained two minors in connection with the murder of two Meitei students in Manipur. According to NDTV, the suspects were captured from Churachandpur district, about 51 km from Imphal.

This comes days after pictures of the victims' bodies went viral on social media. The couple, a 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old youth, had gone missing in July in the violence-hit state.

In one of the photos, the two were seen sitting next to each other, with armed men in the background. In another photo, their bodies were seen lying on the ground.

After the images sparked an outrage, the Manipur government released a statement saying that the case has already been handed over to the CBI.
