Mahua Moitra cash-for-query row: who is Henry and why #FreeHenry is trending?

In the midst of Mahua Moitra's cash-for-query row, #FreeHenry is trending on X. This has come after her 'jilted ex' Jai Anant Dehadrai accused TMC MP Mahua Moitra of stealing his dog, Henry.

As social media users came across his post, they started talking about it and said that the dog should not be involved in this. Several people shared tweets with the #FreeHenry and thus it is now trending.

Supreme Court Advocate Jai Anant sent a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner on October 19, 2023, in which he said that Mahua had deliberately kidnapped and hidden Henry from him since October 10 with the intent to harass and blackmail him.

However, the custody battle for Henry is not new.

According to reports, Moitra filed two complaints with the Barakhamba police station on March 25 and September 23, 2023, accusing Dehadrai of trespassing into her official residence in Delhi and stealing Henry. Later, Mahua withdrew these complaints on account of the 'erstwhile friendship' they had shared.
