Opposition Protests in Lok Sabha Over Bihar Electoral Roll Revision

New Delhi, Aug 21 (PTI) Lok Sabha proceedings were temporarily halted until 12 noon on Thursday following protests from the Opposition concerning the revision of electoral rolls in Bihar.

As the House commenced, Opposition members attempted to address the issue of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.

Speaker Om Birla noted that today marks the final day of the session, pointing out that the Opposition members seemed disinclined to permit the Question Hour before suspending the proceedings until 12 noon.

Throughout this session, the Lower House has experienced significant disruptions, especially during the Question Hour.

Other than discussions on Operation Sindoor in both Houses, parliamentary proceedings have largely stalled since the Monsoon session started on July 21, initially due to the Opposition's demand for dialogues on Operation Sindoor and subsequently, a deliberation on the SIR.
