Who is Hindustani Bhau & why has he been arrested in Mumbai

YouTuber Vikas Fhatak, popularly known as 'Hindustani Bhau' was arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with students' protest in Dharavi on Monday over their demand for online board exams due to the coronavirus pandemic.

'Hindustani Bhau' had uploaded a video on social media, allegedly instigating students. In the video, he had raised concerns over offline exams for Classes 10 and 12 and had allegedly asked students to assemble near the residence of Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad to demand the cancellation of offline exams for classes 10 and 12.

Following this, an FIR was registered against Fhatak under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including that of rioting, Maharashtra Police Act, Disaster Management Act, and Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act.

Earlier on Monday, hundreds of students had gathered outside Ashok Mill Naka, following which police responded with a mild baton charge to stop them.
